Australia is a big country and an iconic tourism destination. Picture kangaroos, koala bears, surfers and the Sydney Opera House. Now imagine the possibility of rowing in the beautiful landscapes, on open water, rivers, lakes and reservoirs. With a thriving rowing culture and clubs around the country, inspiring rowing travel is possible in Australia.
With so many choices, how can we possibly choose one place to run a rowing trip? The answer is simple – we won’t. Thank you to everyone who filled in the survey, provided ideas and information and also inspired us to forge ahead with our plans to create trips in Australia. The feedback was tremendous. While things could still change, we have decided to run trips in two different periods:
The trips that we have selected reflect the feedback we received from rowers both in Australia and internationally. We are emphasizing point to point rows down rivers, plus adding touring aspects to highlight the best in the places we are visiting. Some of our trips will feature famous urban centres like Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, and others will explore lesser known but spectacular scenery in Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia.
Still have ideas and suggestions for us, or want to add your opinions to the survey? Please contact us at any time. We are leaving our survey form open, so feel free to fill it in. Get in touch if you want to be added to the advance notice list for any of our new trips in Australia – and of course, New Zealand too!
We want your photos and stories! Do you have some great images of rowing travel in Australia? Or perhaps some tales that we can share of wonderful experiences rowing while on holiday there. Have ideas for blog posts for us? Please email us your ideas. Any photos used will be credited.
